Quinoa is a mature seed of the species CHENOPODIUM QUINOA, which belongs to the Chenopodioideae subfamily of the Amaranthaceae.
The seed can appear in different colours, but the most common are black, red and white.
Quinoa is a pseudo-cereal because it does not belong to the grass family as the “traditional" cereals..
However, due to its high content of starch, it is used as a cereal.
Quinoa was main part of Andean Inca and pre-Inca people's diet like potatoes.
Quinoa has a high content of protein, iron, calcium and an almost perfect balance of 8 essential amino acids for the development of the human body.
You can find it in several Latin American countries ( Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru) but we are collaborating with small farmers in Peru to collect the seeds and to guarantee high quality. Our collector works under GMP and HACCP standards.
